If you’ve been dreaming of a Southern Oregon Coast getaway, this Bandon vacation rental is your place to make it happen! Explore the nearby beach, walk to Old Town, Jetty Park, or Coquille Point Viewpoint, and enjoy a memorable stay at this custom home with your group of up to 14 guests!
Located in a quiet residential neighborhood of high-end oceanfront homes just southwest of the center of town, Bandon Cliff House is just steps away from the sloping beach, as well as public greenspaces, including Coquille Point directly west and the city park directly east. It’s even a short drive, or casual stroll through quaint neighborhoods, into Old Town for historic landmark sightseeing, boutique shopping, and plenty of dining options.
With artisan touches throughout its spacious rooms, this home is a truly unique coastal abode. And it even has a home-away-from-home appeal with modern conveniences like WiFi, cable TV, a washer/dryer, and an outdoor patio. The main part of the home is heated by the crackling fireplace, which makes it the perfect spot to cuddle up with your special someone.
Enter the home to admire a custom-appointed interior with vaulted ceilings made of hardwoods and exposed beams, which slope down to numerous picture windows that offer panoramic views of the coastline. Settle into the living area’s cozy window seat or comfy leather couches with a good book while you breathe in the briny air that wafts in through a nearby window you’ve opened. Throw a few logs in the wood stove and quickly warm the room. When the weather makes it best to stay indoors, gather your group for a fun board game in the spacious living area, or flip on its flat-screen TV to watch a cable show.
You might decide to have some quiet time with a cup of coffee and a favorite magazine in the study, which is up a set of stairs and attached to one of the bedrooms. Here, you’ll find an interior made entirely of custom hardwoods framing over-sized picture windows, which offer the perfect vantage point for watching the mighty ocean surf pound up against monolithic rock formations just off the coast.
When it’s time to eat, head to the main floor for cooking in the spacious kitchen. A lovely space with custom cabinets, tiled floors, and travertine counter-tops, the kitchen is well stocked with all the cookware you’ll need to whip up fresh seafood dishes or other local fare, and its ample counters are perfect for laying out ingredients or serving up snacks.
When the meal is ready, share it with your whole group at the six-seat glass-top dining table, or head up a set of stairs to eat at the third-floor table with seating for four. If the weather permits, dine al fresco on the back patio where you can sit on Adirondack chairs to enjoy the refreshing sights and sounds of the nearby beach. In the mood for a barbecue? Fire up the gas grill and roast tuna steaks, Dungeness crab kabobs, or any other local delicacies!
Afterwards, take a casual stroll around the neighborhood to admire its majestic oceanfront homes, or lace up your running shoes and go for an invigorating jog on the beach. On a clear night, you could also walk over to Coquille Point to catch a spectacular sunset over the Pacific Ocean.
Come home after a fun-filled day of coastal adventures, ready for restful slumber. Up to 14 guests (12 adults maximum, please) are accommodated in six bedrooms, plus a loft space. Sleeping options include a king bed, two queen beds, two twin beds, one sofa bed (in the sunroom), and a few pullout mattresses that are perfect for the kids.
Cozy with vaulted wooden ceilings, skylights, beautiful picture window views, comfy furnishings, and coastal decor, the bedrooms invite all to relax and get a great night’s sleep. And there are three full bathrooms, so don’t worry about lining up for mirror time or showers.
A functional studio condo unto itself, the third-floor bedroom and living space has its own kitchen area with an adjacent dining table and even a lovely centerpiece – another wood-burning fireplace.
Wake up in the morning and get a pot of fresh coffee brewing in the coffeemaker. After sipping down that all-important morning cup of joe, you’ll feel refreshed and ready to take on a new day of adventures. Start the day off visiting art galleries, quaint boutiques, and local creameries in Old Town, then head to Foley’s Irish Pub for a Guinness and a delicious shepherd’s pie, savor fresh Dungeness crab at Tony’s Crab Shack, or pick up some delicious, locally made cheeses at the Face Rock Creamery. Be sure to have a little dessert at Cranberry Sweets, which offers a huge variety of locally made candy and free samples galore!
If you’ve brought kids, take them on a fun day trip to get up close to tigers, wallabies, reindeer, camels, chimpanzees, and many more exotic animals at the West Coast Game Park Safari (just eight miles south of town). You could also bone up on the history of the area at the Bandon Historical Society Museum (about two miles northeast), or rent kayaks and paddle out on the Coquille River. If you prefer to keep your exploring to dry land, put on your hiking boots and drive five miles north, crossing over the Coquille River, for great trails, picturesque coastal views, lighthouse sightseeing, and plenty more at Bullards Beach State Park.
Do you like to golf? If so, make sure to bring your clubs because Bandon has some of the west coast’s best greens at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort (about seven and a half miles north), which has award-winning links-style courses and annually attracts golfers from all over the world. If you’re willing to make a slightly longer drive north, Coos Bay’s quaint downtown and bayside harbor with crabbing vessels and commercial fishing boats is worth the 25-mile drive north.
Perfect for a family reunion, a holiday celebration, or any other group gathering, this gorgeous Southern Oregon Coast home invites you to abandon the ordinary for an extraordinary stay in charming, small-town Bandon!
